L the Uruguayan Society of Medical Psychology and Psychosocial Medicine, accredited by the Graduate School of the Faculty of Medicine UDELAR is pleased to invite you to COURSE DISORDERS ; of feeding behavior. Bulimia and anorexia. An interdisciplinary approach.

The course will be headed by Dr. Fedora Espinal and team of Eating Disorders (ED) of Hospital Maciel, Mental Health Unit, MSP: Dr Carmen Pérez (Psychiatrist) Dr. Graciela Olano (Intensivist) - to confirm , Lic Psych. Gabriela Campos, Lic. Psych. Beatriz Muiño Lic Psych. Gabriele Dini, Lic Psych. Silvia Toledo, Lic Psych. and Nutr. Rachel Poggi, Mr. Psychomotor. Deborah GRIB Mr. Nutr. Veronica Pietra, Mr. Nutr. Eileen Vandomselaar.


OBJECTIVES: Provide a comprehensive view the theoretical-clinical eating disorders from the work experience of an interdisciplinary team. Conceptualize the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of eating disorders from the approach psychiatric, psychological, psychomotor and nutritional

FOUNDATION: The eating disorders are a disease which has been increasing steadily over the last decades . These disorders are the visible expression of conflicts caused by multiple causal factors (emotional, familial, cultural) which need to address it, both in understanding the same as for treatment of an interdisciplinary look that you can approach the complexity of its etiology.

From the socio-cultural paradigms of beauty today, promoted through the mass media, promoting an ideal of thinness is synonymous with beauty, difficult to achieve, which is often considered the means to achieve success and social acceptance. There is a cult of thinness, as secular form of perfection, in a paradoxical society, where consumption and identity are closely linked.
