How Long Can Brawts Sit Out

Political correctness "or Orwell's Newspeak? Citizenship Education

The Newspeak (Newspeak) is a language that appears in the novel 1984 by George Orwell. Newspeak is nothing but an extremely simplified version language and is one of the pillars of the authoritarian regime of the Party. The aim was to replace the viejalengua (Oldspeak) so dominate the thinking and doing other forms of thought unviable contrary to the principles of the party. The vocabulary is minimized, to the point where words become nobueno bad (in the original English, ungood) The words in common use (eating, drinking, tree) remain the Viejalengua and allow all thoughts to express simple have no philosophical or political content. These are complemented words constructed for political purposes in order to direct and control the speaker's thinking, and scientific words and techniques, but redefined so that they were devoid of meaning "potentially dangerous" .. For example, to prevent people want or think about freedom, it eliminates the unwanted meanings of the word, so that the very concept of political or intellectual freedom no longer exists in the minds of speakers.
And now, reflect on our use of "our" newspeak
  • collateral damage (dead civilians)
  • Flexibility in employment (dismissal without compensation)
  • Employment regulation ( Layoffs)
  • social expenditure (money spent on the welfare of people. Spending = waste)
  • Investment (expenditure on infrastructure. As if education is not an investment!)
  • Market (IMM)
  • ethnic cleansing (genocide)
  • advanced interrogation techniques, enhanced interrogation techniques (torture pure and hard)
  • Legal Limbo (unlawful detention)
  • economic slowdown (Crisis bestial) Temporary cessation
  • of coexistence (Separation)
  • Uncertain (False)
... and remember that power is based on the control of the communication. Maybe we should start calling things by their name ...
